File Usage Rules
Follow the following rules to extend the service life
- Do not use a file to frustrate the oxide layer of the workpiece, as the hardness of the oxide layer is high and it is easy to damage the teeth of the file. The oxide layer can be polished with a grinding wheel or chiseled off with a chisel.
- Use one side of the new file first, then use the other side after this side is blunt.
- In the process of using the file, always use a copper wire brush (or wire brush) to brush the debris embedded in the tooth groove along the direction of the tooth pattern of the file. After use, all the debris must be carefully brushed off before storage.
- When using a file, the speed should not be too fast, otherwise it is easy to wear prematurely. The best frequency of the file back and forth is 40 times/min. The use length of the file occupies 2/3 of the full length of the tooth surface of the file.
- The diamond file can be used with water, but not other liquids such as oil, acid, alkali, etc., which will corrode the diamond file.
- Diamond files are widely used for frustrating hard metals, but not for frustrating soft metals, such as aluminum, copper, etc.
- Do not use files as other tools, such as knocking, prying, pressing, twisting, pulling, and hitting.
- When using files, do not use too much force to avoid breaking or deforming.
- When storing files, they must not collide and stack them; the humidity in the storage place must not be too high, and it is required to keep dry and ventilated.
