I can't speak to the building process yet but I read the instructions and it looks easy enough. Ive looked over all of the parts and pieces & they are great quality... the listing photos don't do it justice, the cigar box they sent was well past my expectations! Im planning on staining mine and might even weather it a bit before I assemble it. We will see but im very curious about putting a deeper string on it (maybe even a bass strings). Im also going to put an electric pickup on it so i can use peddles with it to really get the most i can out of it.

Fun, super simple assembly with simple tools. With tools like a drill press and belt/disc sander, it's child's play. No finishing is necessary, but I did use some sanding sealer and spray lacquer for the neck to improve feel when playing. Even with the additional steps I chose, it took less than 3 hours to complete. Why not 5 stars then? Well, the supplied screw on the headstock used for the nut is supposed to be a slotted screw. The one I got was a phillips head. I noticed when installing it, and knowing a little about guitars, I knew this was a mistake. No problem; I just cut a slot with my Dremel. All that's left for me to do is figure out how I want to mark the frets to suit my own taste. All in all this would make a great gift, either completed or as a kit, or a fantastic father/son project. Looking forward to building more.
