I thought these would be a little more substantial, like nipple covers, but the material is like that of plastic bandages - super thin and flexy. If you want to see if this would work, try cutting off a piece of a big bandaid and testing it. The size just covers the diameter of my belly button, but unfortunately, my belly button still shows through a ribbed dress (20 weeks).
