At first glance it looks quite large and awkward but it ended up being comfortable and easy to handle. I didn’t think it would be.The tool only works with A variety of Makita 18 volt batteries so keep that in mind prior to purchasing. For the $100.00 price tag, I was overall happy with the tool’s performance. The buttons work smoothly and the motor works well. Minimum noise and decent torque. The included bits are a good starting set but I prefer my own.

I went to use it for the first time right out of the box and smoke poured out of it and it won’t spin anymore

I had two uses in mind for this: driving lags in spots the impact has a hard time reaching and also running bolts in that don't need gobs of torque. Decided to test this by running a 6in lag through some boards and it did a fine job. I do think that I shouldn't be throwing this around a bunch as the plastic doesn't seem as tough as a name brand version. Definitely appreciate the sockets and extension since I seem to misplace them frequently enough.

Honestly, I didn't expect too much out of this since it is generic. However, I tried it on several bolts and it had no issues loosening and tightening them. Now, we're talking 12mm bolts that aren't rusted in place, but that's what you are supposed to use these for in the first place. The grip feels nice in the hand, the forward/reverse switch worked smoothly. The included sockets are even decent. It is really long, that's probably my only real complaint. It'll be hard to get into some spots. Also, there's no case or carry bag at all, but I'd rather not have them in the first place.
