This floor outlet arrived quickly without damage.The unit is nicely constructed using good quality materials. The AC outlets work properly although they don’t seem to hold inserted plugs tightly. Wiring the USB ports is a bit tedious.There is not indication on the unit that it has any code approval.Would I buy this again, Maybe.I use Amazon reviews every time when considering a product purchase. Here is my rating scale:5 Stars: Excellent product, no hesitation recommending or using.4 Stars: Good product with some limitations, could be improved.3 Stars: Fair product, can be made to work if your put your mind to it.2 Stars: Not very functional.1 Star: Don’t bother, it might even be painful.

The Floor Outlet Kit (with 3 RJ45 Ports and 2 Power Outlets) is rugged and high quality design. The cover plate assembly is metal, has 2 individually retractable doors that when opened to reveal either the 110V grounded outlets or 3 RJ-45 ethernet ports.The metal doors flip up by depressing them in the center edge and when vertical will fold flush into into the center of the unit. This means that when you are using any of the outlets, the doors are not vertical sticking out and in the way. When closed they provide for a dust cover on top of the outlets.On the back side where you connect the 120V AC power into the outlet, there are three screw down terminals for hot, neutral and ground. The terminals will accommodate 12/2 or 14/2 wiring without a problem and the outlet has 120V 15A embossed on the plastic implying it is rated for that amount of current.The 3 ethernet ports on the back have a connection scheme I have not seen before that should allow cat 5 or cat 6 cable to be easily connected, in contrast to typical punch blocks have two rows which are a bit more difficult to use in comparison. They are labeled CAT 6 implying that they will handle the thicker cat6 wiring. To connect the ethernet cable, strip the outer jacket and untwist the wires and follow the appropriate color code (A or B) for the wiring and lay out the unstripped wires in the individual grooves. Flip down the clear plastic cover and press hard to push the wires into punch blocks which will make the connection. The clear cover also has the color code sticker on it so it makes it easy to verify you have the correct colored wires ares in the right groove.The top unit has rubber gasket around the edge which seals to the wiring box below. The wiring box is metal and fairly large, its interior is 4.5" x 4.5" by 2" and features both 1/2" and 3/4" knock outs on all 4 sides, (none in the bottom) of the box. There is a grounding screw in to bottom of the box.Notes: The center door channel (where the top covers retract into) is deep so it effectively divides the box into two areas and there is little clearance for wiring below it, probably about a 1/4" so be aware of that when figuring out what orientation you want for the top and keep the appropriate wiring in that half (AC or ethernet).The top plate extends over the box on all 4 sides by only bit over an 1/8" inch meaning you need to be very careful when cutting out the floor for the box as the top plate will not cover any sloppy cuts that exceed that amount. Also, this means that the support for people walking on it or something heavy resting on it must either come from the box itself being anchored/supported well or the 1/8 edge of the floor around (if hole cut precisely) is able to support it more than the box.

When I immediately saw this I knew I needed it. However I overlooked the opposite side being only for network cables. Now that's not a bad thing but I specifically thought this would be great just as four 110v outlets. Now that I have to switch one side, I might see if I can access the housing and replace it with a USB charger port(s). I'm thinking this might actually be more helpful now that I am changing the one side As far as the product itself, I think it is a homerun. The build quality is awesome, definitely feels sturdy and heavier than what I would have gotten if this was made cheaply (which it is not). It looks good and feels fairly smooth when you glide your hands or foot over the box itself while it's closed. This wasn't hard to install but, I will have to reinstall based on changing the one side. This cost a pretty penny but I think it's totally worth it based on the location of which it'll be for years to come. I expect this to take a beating and still come out on top and still work and function like it would brand new. It fits and is excellent for my needs.

I ordered the Creemrib Floor Outlet Kit with 3 RJ45 Ports and 2 Power Outlets, to install in a large computer/gaming desk I am building. It will provide the Ethernet and some of the power for two computers and an Xbox console. The only thing I was disappointed in was that the connections for the RJ45 Ethernet ports are individual wire connections only. It would have been easier to plug the Ethernet cable in than to connect it by individual wires, as Ethernet has a large number of wires, and it is time-consuming to do so. I should have looked more closely at the picture and seen that the connection wasn't either-or, as I had assumed; that was my mistake. I can simply cut off the plug and strip the individual wires of the Ethernet cable. The connection has one minor drawback: it requires all the wires to be in their proper places before the clamping mechanism is shut. I would have liked it if the wires could have been connected one at a time; it would have made things far easier. They work fine, but are frustrating. Installation is relatively straightforward. Outline the junction box in the proper location and cut a hole accordingly. After the wires are run up through the hole and attached, drop it is and screw into place.This outlet is very sturdy. Its case and junction box are all metal. The two access doors are simply pushed open on one side and fold up into the base. They are made of thick, tough metal, and when closed, can withstand being walked on. The doors stay open using gravity and their weight, which makes them a little harder to pull out for shutting than if they had been spring-loaded. When installed, the product sticks up about 1/8" as opposed to being flush; for most installations, this shouldn't be an issue. It would be perfect under a desk, for instance. It has a foam surround to prevent water from seeping past the edge and through the floor, but its doors are not water-tight. The design is not suitable for use in wet areas or for wet mopping. As I am installing it on a desktop, I won't need to worry about that. The 120V power plugs and Ethernet plugs are of high quality. The plug is suitable for a 15A supply, and the Ethernet connections support up to Cat6 speed Ethernet connections. The Ethernet plugs have a spring-loaded door that must be pushed open to insert a cable. This helps keep dirt and dust out of the Ethernet port, ensuring a good connection. Although the product is not yet fully installed in the desk, I tested the Ethernet ports by connecting one to my router and comparing the download speeds; they were identical to those of a straight wire. I also tested the wall voltage receptacle. It has a good hold on whatever is plugged in, and it is grounded.This product is offered at a reasonable price, and I recommend it.

I grew up in the trades and have done tons of DYI projects over a lot of years. Generally, I complain that quality has dropped, but you just accept it, make it work and go on. At this stage in life, there’s a fair amount of cynicism and it takes a lot to wow me. This recessed floor electrical outlet is one of the exceptions. One of the highest quality items I’ve ever received from Amazon. It is simply superb. While initially it seemed spendy, it is a classic case of you get what you pay for. It is a commercial product, and paying more is just a given. For the wear and tear it receives in a commercial/industrial setting - it seemed kind of overkill to put this in my living room. I went back to reread the information given on their Amazon sales page. There wasn’t a single exaggeration.First, everything is high quality metal, except the actual receptacles. It is a heavy duty two gang “junction box”That was engineered with tight tolerances. The covers neatly slide out of the way when in use and are completely out of the way and out of sight - similar to pocket doors on an entertainment system. Movement is smooth. Closed, these doors are about 1/8” thick and can easily support heavy traffic and heavyweight carts rolled across them or walkers of people who have difficulty ambulating and are vulnerable to tripping: as in a doctor’s office. The fact that these will be installed flanking a couch and between two arm chairs means no electrical wires from lamps that pose a trip hazard or eyesore. I love the USB ports alongside the 110. As you sit, recharging a device is super easy. Instructions were complete and easy to follow. It wasn’t much more difficult than a regular two gang outlet. But boy, oh boy, these are high quality.
