The packaging was good. However, when I took the bubble wrap off I noticed multiple dents and scratches and what looks like rust but probably gunk and dirt. Makes me feel like it isn't brand new but second hand from someone who already used it.

These extensions are helpful when using my planer on the portable stand I made for it, especially with longer and heavier boards. Screw holes were just a little hard to start but not a real problem. Sturdy enough for me to plane 8x8 beams without bending. You do need a stand with a wide stance as these extensions will add some leverage that may cause tipping. Just something to be aware of.
