These chairs are the real deal and if you are an avid camper, you know Helinox is serious. I have been eyeing Helinox's chairs for a while and am so glad I am able to get my hands on them. This is a redesign, so I can't compare to the original, but this is built very well and with intentional functions. The fabric is high quality and you can tell the difference from the generic chairs that are sold on Amazon (which I have tried multiples of). I believe the frame comes with a 5 year warranty from Helinox which speaks on their build quality. When it comes to actually assembling it, it is very intuitive and I had no problem doing it without looking at instructions, especially if have been camping and assembled similar chairs. I will say the chair isn't more comfortable than other similar chairs, however I am on the tall side and I was surprised that I can fit in it and I wouldn't mind sitting in this when I go camping. For the price, you're not paying for extra comfort, but more for the quality of Helinox products and their warranty. This isn't a backpacking chair but I the aluminum chairs are pretty lightweight and makes it easy to throw in your car for car camping.

We do a ton of camping and we've tried out a bunch of different camp chairs. Ive always seen the Helionox at the stores, but never tried one because of the price. The materials and construction are all top notch. The fabric and stitching looks great and there are no loose threads. The camo fabric is striking. The chair is very light and works great, but I don't think it's worth the price difference from the other similar chairs ive used. I think a few years ago it was not possible to get a comparable chair for a decent price, but the competition has caught up. I have a couple similar chairs with full backs and headrests that weight just a few ounces more than this chair.

I use this chair mainly for backcountry camping since it's so lightweight and a small form factor when dismantled and in it's case. Having somewhere to sit and rest your back after a long hike with a heavy pack is absolutely essential, and this chair is the ticket. It's easy to put together, the shock cords guide the setup, and the fabric stretches over the frame. Super easy. This one also has larger feet, which is super nice to keep the chair from sinking into soft earth or sand too much. The colors are great and it's as comfortable as it should be, considering it's an ultralight chair (I have car camping chairs that are huge and yes they are more comfortable). This chair has been to Philmont and back, used constantly for 12 nights straight in all sorts of weather, and it's barely broken in. I am 6'2 and 225, and it feels solid when I sit in it. Awesome chair, I can't recommend it enough.

When I think of the Helinox name, my mind goes to well-constructed and ultralight backpacking gear. However, this product is not exactly that. They have stated in the listing that it's "30% taller than the Original Chair One" which makes it more comfortable... but also adds some weight. Because of this, I'd say it's more on par now with many other camping chairs of this design that are much more affordable around the $40-60 dollar range.Granted, I haven't seen quite as cool as a color scheme... but mostly you are paying for the Helinox name here. Other chairs I own are built with the same structure (aluminum frame with zip cord/cloth backing) and claim to hold the same (if not more) capacity. I've also seen chairs come with rubber feet, so you don't sink into soft ground. I would be fine using any one of these chairs and have. That said, I really am glad that I purchased this chair and have used it on several occasions. I've gotten compliments on it and personally love the way it looks. It's easy to put together and fits back it the bag without any issues. I also like how the bag has a double zipper design with a Velcro latch up top. It's different than all the other chairs I own and is simply just a pleasure to use.Overall, if you purchase this chair, you will be happy. My only complaint would be the price compared to other chairs on the market. As mentioned earlier though, you are mostly paying for the Helinox name. The bag and color scheme are very unique as well which I also think sets it apart from the competition.

I've owned other, knockoffs of the Helinox One Chair. They work, but I can sure see the difference between the fake and the real thing. The Helinox is a really well built chair. Where my fake chair just had a couple of grommets to put the chair legs through, the Helinox has hard plastic receivers to put the poles in, much more durable. The chair is nice and light so moving it around is a breeze. It comes out of its unique "bag" and assembles in a hurry. I am short, and small. I'm 5', 115. The chair is super comfortable for me. I think it would be just as comfortable for a larger person because that is the way it is designed. Another thing that is different on my fake chair is that it is difficult to get out of the fake one because it is really short and it's hard on the knees for some people. The Helinox was a bit taller and firmer when you went to get out. It was definately easier than the fake chair. Totally worth getting the real thing.
