This is a very sturdy and well built hose reel. It is made almost entirely of metal with only a few small plastic parts. It comes in a box and will need to be put together, which was not very difficult. The hose can be pulled from the reel without it falling over. It can easily hold a long hose however, depending on the length of the hose, the guide to wind it up doesn't always line up perfectly with where the hose is. Overall this thing is built like a tank and is much better than plastic ones that cost almost same. Very good value for the money.

I was very much pleased with the product, looks great, nicely built. It was not a big deal assembling. All was good until I ran the water, the pressure was greatly reduced. I don’t know why, If you don’t mind the lower pressure, it will be fine.

If you buy just one hose cart, this may be it. The jointing hose has nice brass ends and includes washers. The reel coupling is aluminum and might benefit from a wrap of teflon tape, which you probably have already. There’s just a bit of assembly, but that really is just a few screws and a small hex wrench included. Assembled in under 15 min. There’s a basket and a crank handle to install, along with the hose guide. The parts are all metal, so if you have a plastic reel, get rid of it and replace with this one. Should be very durable traveling on flat-free tires.

Overall it's a nice reel. The metal hose connections are a big improvement over the cheaper plastics reels.Like others I don't like the fact that the water flow is restricted down to 3/8" going into the reel. Using a 5/8" hose becomes pointless.I did drill out the fitting to 1/2", which increased the flow greatly. I know another review on here said to drill it out to 5/8", this must be a typo? Drilling it that large would destroy the aluminum fitting. You have to drill fairly deep to get all the way through, approximately 4"Also there wasn't enough room between the crossbar and the pulley for the hose connections to go through when using two hoses connected together.Still it was the size I was looking for and for the money it's far better than the cheap plastic ones, it just needs a few changes to get 5 stars!.

I've tried out 6 hose reels now - this Sunneday was the best in every way - size, build quality, limited bends in the hose feed line (many reels have multiple >= 90 degree direction changes on the hard feed line, each of which negatively impacts flow), a storage basket for attachments, solidly affixed attachment points ... all ruined by the water inlet port being restricted to 3/8" diameter, severely restricting flow at normal water pressures.I mailed the manufacturer asking if it was a mistake or if it was an insert that could be removed. I did not receive a response and returned the reel. I considered drilling it out but didn't want to risk ruining it without being able to see the whole internal structure. I stuck with a Yard Butler IHT-2EZ which has a smoothly transitioning feed line, and while the build quality feels inferior, it has a lifetime warranty.Hope this helps someone. Surprisingly difficult to find high quality hose carts.
