Don't pay big $$$ to have this done at the dealer, this takes about 5 minutes and no tools required other than a small flat head screwdriver. Go to 101Projects.com and go to Porsche Boxster project 79. I used these directions to replace the worn out front hood shocks on my 2000 Porsche Boxster S. The new shocks are much more powerful, let's hope they last 14 years like the originals 😃

Easy to replace, fits well and works well just by replacing one of 2 struts on the front hood.

Replaced my 99 Porsche 911s hood shocks with these. Great fit and installation was easy. Now I dont have problems keeping it up ;)

First of all, you're already aware these are Chinese; not German; parts.Secondly, the fitment is poor. There's a lot of play between each socket on the damper and the respective ball on the car. It's almost to the point they could easily pop off. The original Porsche dampers fit snugly.Thirdly, these have serious springs in them. Any stronger, and you'd bend the hood trying to close it.UPDATE 2018:Within less than a year, this will completely lose the internal air pressure, and won't hold your hood up even briefly. Complete junk.
