I replaced the water heater with a new combi boiler. My previous Webstone valve kit wouldn't fit. Only this or similar (possibly rebranded) valve kit can fit. As many other mentioned the union is leaking on both hot and cold lines. It's obvious 1/16" thick o-ring is too thin for the groove. It cannot develop enough compression to hold the water pressure. I spent half day to tight, and re-tight several times. Save your time and don't take risk to damage the heater ports. Go to hardware store and buy two 1-1/4" OD, 1/8" thick O-rings. Apply reasonable torque and you should not have any leak.

Watts is a highly respected manufacturer of all sorts of plumbing related products as well as other lines. But this Valve Kit is a piece of junk!! I have a gas fitter, steamfitter and assorted others licenses and usually can handle most things thrown at me. But the design of this is basically fault - the o ring seal is to far recessed into its groove to allow the mating surface to properly seal. This was pointed out by others here yet Watts (and Amazon) continue to sell it. I imagine the odd one works - if the stars are aligned and the brass to brass surface meet perfectly. But other than that - try a different manufacturer in this case. I did try alternative ways to make a seal, including a light wrap of teflon around the entire o riing - but no use. Be warned - or later on thank goodness for Amazon's excellent return process.

Installed these today with no issues at all. They are well made and easy to work with.I think it's important to mention that you need to use thread tape (or equivalent) on the pieces you connect to the valves. They are tapered fittings and therefore do not use o-rings to seal, they seal against the male threads, and those male threads need to have thread tape (teflon tape, pipe tape, etc) on them or you will not have a good seal. I think most of the negative reviews are from people who's biggest issue is user error.Mine came with the pressure relief valve. Have read some reviews where people say they didn't get that part. Mine was shipped by Handyman Direct. Thank you Handyman Direct!

These little valves have bee in my home 6 weeks and have already saved my butt! I am super grateful that I had the foresight to install them because when my shower diverter cracked in my 90 year old Victorian house and the water started flowing freely.. leaking on 2 floors and my basement, I just had my son run down and shut it off. WOW! That was super easy. And the wait for the plumber was not a big anxiety ridden deal because these saved the day!

While remodeling my basement I also changed most of my water pipes in the house. When my Navien CH-240 was installed, the plumber did not use a valve kit, so to remediate this I purchased this valve kit. I also purchased the , because it looked similar at a better price point. Well well, guess what? They are one and the same!!! The Noritz only changed the handles (to have their own logo on them), other than that this is identical to the Watts. What am I saying, this is the Watts with different handles. BUT, what even nicer, it comes with the pressure relief valve as well (a Watts as well)! If purchasing the Watts kit, you need the relief valve, so the price would be much higher! So if I were you, I would just get the Noritz since it is one and the same, and you get the pressure relief valve included for a much lower price! As far as how it works, I installed the Noritz and it works great, with no leaks. Since they are identical I count as reviewing this one as well.EDIT: When I purchased these they were both sold and fulfilled by Amazon. Noritz was about 80 bucks and Watts a little over 100 bucks.

A good valve to have when installing a tankless water heater. Easy to install, but a little difficult to tighting the top lock nut enough so that it does not leak.

Surprising to me how much these cost, but the price seems to be about the same across manufacturers. Not a piece to save a few bucks on, as the cost of replacement is too high and failure even higher.Note that if you are using this with a pressure relief valve, you will need to get one with a short probe/stem-thing that goes inside the pipe. The ones for sale at my local hardware store all had probes which were too long, like the ones used with a water heater. I was using mine with a tankless heater.
