My son and I throw the ball in the street a lot. The good leather balls kept getting torn to shreds after a few months of use because the ball kept hitting the ground. I guess we catch like UF receivers! This ball is tough and has taken quite a few road rashes like a boss. It says its water proof too, but I haven't taken it to the beach yet. The size is NFL sized so its a smidgen bigger than a college ball. It is weighted just about perfect and is super easy to throw a spiral too! I will warn you to moisten the needle (spit on it) before putting it in to inflate the ball. The first time we inserted the needle in dry it pushes the whole gasket into the ball. Amazon quickly sent us a new one. Love you Amazon!

I love this ball. In the past, I've hated rubber, non-leather balls. They always feel like toys and not real footballs. This ball is official size and weight, and makes a great football for playing in the rain. I would just be careful of playing on concrete surfaces. The ball, like any football, can get torn up fast.
