The first time I played my Mandolin it had strings on it that made the whole experience make me no longer want to play it. I immediately broke the E string while tuning it and than purchased a new set of strings. I immediately broke the E string again. So this time I purchased several D'Addario single E strings. Love not have to buy a new "set" of stings for just one string. I have had very good luck with the D'Addario and will only purchase this brand of strings again. They produce a beautiful tone.

Not fit for purpose -- I wondered why it took so long to tighten, then it unravelled at the loop end. Now I'm short of one string in my new set.
