Used this for a few small bowls and lids. Works fine and holds the piece securely.It's a pain in the butt to change jaws so I may get another chuck just for this. (yes I am that lazy) :)

Lost one pie slice and had to buy the entire set- so for 3 luck wood turners I have spare parts - geeezzzzz - I have used these a lot and have bought the other "buttons" to fit different applications/shapes. Works well and fits my G3 chuck at slow light cuts. Recommend if you do buy these to tie them together to keep the spastic one from escaping - I will find it one day all down and out in the dark corner of my garage - but by that time no therapy on this world will be able to save it.

I ordered this chuck to salvage a bowl that had broke during turning. It worked perfect. I was able to mount the bowl on its face securely and with with no marks to allow me to fix the broken tennon. A bit smaller bowl than planned but thanks to the chuck I have a great piece.

The only thing I would suggest is to also buy the extra set of rubber posts to hold the bowls better. They are more secure and last longer as they are more rugged. Otherwise , the jaws work very well. I have an an Excelsior and it is perfect for that lathe.

When preparing to order the cole jaws I carefully checked my Nova Chuck but could not find any markings to correlate the C3 designation noted for these jaws however the photos matched so I took a chance and ordered them. When received I found the provided metric M6 allen head bolts too long to secure the jaws. I went to my local Lowes found four M6 Allen head screws of correct length and using the original M6 screws had the 8 needed to correctly assemble the chuck. A simple $4 fix. Looking forward to finishing the bases of my bowls correctly.
