1. The magnetic base can only be adsorbed on the steel plate (thickness greater than or equal to 5 mm).
2. Our magnetic drill can only be used with hollow boring bits, not with annular bits.

I have had this item for exactly 3 months and have used it three times. Yesterday it heated up and now the magnet is weak and won't magnetize properly. I wanted to reach out to the seller but there is no way of contacting them as the return window was only 1 month. Do not buy this product.

The tool works great, I have used it several times where my drill press and or my mill would not work without extra hands. It makes straight holes using standard drill bits (reduced shank for large bits) through two inch square 1018 steel tube 1/4 in. thick wall! It stays where I need it (magnet) and very important when you turn off the electromagnet all the chips fall away. Note it does magnetize the drill bit.I would recommend this portable drill press for anyone not using it 8 hours a day 5 days a week!Now if we could just get an aluminum magnet, LOL.

I really wanted to like this product. however even for the most tiny bits, the magnetic pull is not enough to hold in place and if you dont go very very slowly the entire device decouples from the magnetic structurer it is on. this is particularly distressing because I got it for vertical services and if it detaches it is quite a heavy thing to fall. it comes with a small leash and I would recommend absolutely use that if not completely flat on a table.

Works very well for a mid sized mag drill. Magnet is strong enough to hold upside down on 3/8” or thicker steel, same as a $1200 mag drill I have used. Decent power and speed control. I would recommend. I never give 5 star, too many BS 5S ratings. I never read 5 or 1 star reviews either
