This surprised me on how well it worked for me. I'm not saying it just pressed the ball joint from the spindle, but it applied a lot of pressure and one whack to the spindle with a hammer, and it came apart.

I got this tool in advance of doing a front end repair on one of my cars. Finally, when I went to use it, the first side came apart using this tool with almost no effort. Then came the other side. I wound the jacking screw in until it was tight, then proceeded to add about another quarter turn, followed by another quarter turn. No joy. I then gave it one more go of doing the same and now it was really tight. I grabbed a hammer to give the steering knuckle a whack but right before I did that, the two pieces came apart sounding like a shot had been fired. I always leave the ball joint nut on for safety so there were no issues. The tool did great. I don't know how I could have gotten those two pieces separated without it.
